Hello, Joel Greene here from Condo Hotel Center. I recently took my wife to a favorite restaurant of ours in the Hollywood area. And as we drove out towards the beach, I couldn’t help but notice the amount of construction going on.
If you drive up A1A or through Ft. Lauderdale’s downtown, you see plenty of cranes and frenzied laborers, a sight that has been typical for a couple of years in downtown Miami, but previously not so much here.
Additionally, I saw where the Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport just opened its south runway, a move that will alleviate flight delays and bring more tourists to the area. The $719 million, 8,000-foot runway is the first phase of a $2.3 billion expansion project that will be completed by 2017.
It’s clear the Hollywood-Ft. Lauderdale area is heating up in terms of growth. And that’s the reason two of South Florida’s most prestigious and prolific condo developers, The Related Group and Key International, have chosen Hollywood for its next residential development. Hyde Beach House Resort Condominium & Residences
A mixed-use building, Hyde Beach House will combine traditional condo residences with condo hotel units and an upscale beach club. The high rise will have 41 stories and be located just steps from the ocean.
The condo residences will be located on floors 35-41. As traditional condos, they’ll have no living restrictions.
The condo hotel units, which are being called “resort condos” by the folks at Hyde Beach House, will be located on floors 2-34. Owners will be able to use their units a total of 150 days per year. The remaining days, the unit may go into the Hyde Beach House rental program, and owners will share in the revenue their unit generates.
Owners of both the condo residences and resort condos will receive VIP beach club membership, which will give them access to the three-story beach club, private beach and sun deck, beachside food and beverage service, on-site spa services and more.
A Full Complement of Amenities
Hyde Beach House will have numerous resort-like features and amenities including:
- Elegant double-volume entrance lobby with designer furnishings
- A signature restaurant overlooking pool and Intracoastal Waterway
- Infinity-edge pool with expansive pool deck and cabanas
- Outdoor kitchen and dining area
- Outdoor movie theater with lounge areas and fire pits
- Sports Club with outdoor courts for tennis, basketball and mini-soccer
- Aqua Club offering jet skis, paddle boards, kayaks, wind-surfing, etc.

- Health spa with men’s and women’s facilities

Additionally, owners will have access to a personal concierge, Barefoot Butler service for snacks and beverages on the beach, room service and valet parking.
Condo Unit Features
Each of the condominiums and resort condos (condo hotel units) will feature open-concept contemporary floor plans. They’ll have wide private terraces with glass railings and unobstructed views of the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway.
They’ll come with advanced technology, “smart building” pre-wired with fiber optic for high speed internet, data/voice and cable TV access. The kitchens will have stainless steel appliances. And both the kitchens and master baths will have European cabinetry and imported stone countertops.
Because the resort condos will be part of the rental program, they’ll be sold fully decorated and designer finished. The traditional condos will be delivered designer-ready.
Hollywood Beach, A Perfect Location
Hyde Beach Resort Condominium Residences will be located in Hollywood Beach, which is in between Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale in the heart of South Florida. Think tropical temps and sand beneath your toes. But the beach isn’t Hollywood’s only draw.
The resort will be just minutes away from world-class dining and shopping at Bal Harbour Shoppes, Aventura Mall and Las Olas Boulevard. It’s also close to museums, theaters and Port Everglades, where numerous cruise ships begin and end their voyages. (More on the port in minute.)
The Village at Gulfstream, a 1,000,000 sq. ft. new development, recently opened within a few minutes of Hyde’s front door. The Village has outdoor cafes and fine dining restaurants, unique shops and sidewalk boutiques, bustling nightlife and entertainment, casinos and horse racing.
Construction Status & Pricing
The developers of Hyde Beach Resort expect to break ground in mid-2016. Construction will take approximately two years, putting the completion date at mid-2018.
A total of 77 traditional condominiums and 265 resort condos (condo hotel units) are for sale. They can be reserved now with a 10% deposit. Additional payments will be due at various construction milestones.
Both the traditional condos and resort condos come in one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans. They range in size from 795 sq. ft. to 1,490 sq. ft. Pre-construction prices range from $430,900 for the one bedrooms, from $580,900 for the two bedrooms and from $780,900 for the three bedrooms.

Nearby Port Everglades
In the beginning of this write-up I mentioned how the Hollywood-Ft. Lauderdale Airport is being expanded. Additionally, so is the nearby Port Everglades, which is one of the busiest cruise ports in the world.
It is currently undergoing monumental capital improvements to add cargo berths, deepen and widen navigational channels, and lengthen one of its slips to accommodate today’s largest cruise ships. When complete, Port Everglades will be able to handle increasing amounts of international cargo and will be able to service even more than the 43 cruise ships from nine cruise lines that already dock at this port.
