Hi, Joel Greene here from Condo Hotel Center. If you’ve ever visited the Miami area here in Florida, then you’ve probably heard of Biscayne Boulevard, part of U.S. Highway 1.
It’s a main thoroughfare that dates all the way back to the 1920s, leading travelers from Key West, FL all the way north to Maine.
In its heyday in the early 1950s, a surge in car travel led to the development of mom-and-pop motor inns and motels all along Biscayne Boulevard.
But that all changed by 1970, once I-95 was complete. Biscayne Boulevard became a secondary route with lots less traffic. No longer could all those little motels survive.
Over the decades, Biscayne Boulevard would go through a transformation as more retail, restaurants and housing came in and residential neighborhoods sprung up around land on both sides of Biscayne Boulevard.
Today, the area continues to evolve. Properties along the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway, just east of Biscayne Boulevard, are being replaced by ultra-contemporary, luxurious condominium towers.

The Harbour will feature a two-story entertainment area exclusive to residents and their guests. It will have a media room with large flat-screen TV and premium programming.
It will also have a full-size billiard table, poker tables, board games, library and high-speed wireless Internet throughout.
The Harbour will be a world apart from the old 1950s motels of Biscayne Boulevard where just having a pool was the ultimate luxury.
In addition to the Water Club and Social Lounge, The Harbour will include:
- Private, full-service spa surrounded by botanical gardens
- State-of-the-art fitness center
- Open studio for Yoga, Pilates and aerobics
- Organic juice and smoothie bar
- Serenity trail and Vita course fitness stations
- Kids’ areas: arcade, outdoor water play zone and playground
- Sports facilities for tennis, racquetball, soccer and basketball
- Large outdoor BBQ and gathering areas
- Fenced dog park
Among the services The Harbour will offer its residents will be a concierge and 24-hour valet and security.
The Harbour’s North Miami location is midway between Miami and Fort Lauderdale with easy access to the roads that will take you in either direction.
Aventura Mall, the fifth largest shopping mall in the U.S. and the premier shopping destination for Miami and Fort Lauderdale, is just five to ten minutes north. Or you can take a short drive toward the ocean and you’ll find shopping at exclusive boutiques that rival Fifth Avenue and Rodeo Drive at the nearby Bal Harbour Shoppes. Another 15 minutes south of there, and you’re in the heart of Miami’s fabled South Beach with its nightclubs and world-renowned restaurants.
The Harbour is only a five-minute drive to Oleta River State Park, a 1,032-acre haven for kayaking, mountain biking, swimming, fishing, trail walking and picnicking. Plus, the North Miami area has various museums, theaters, sports venues and cultural attractions nearby.
The residences at The Harbour will feature open-concept floor plans for entertaining. They’ll have expansive private balconies offering panoramic views of the bay and the Miami skyline.
They’ll also have premium European-inspired gourmet kitchens, professional-grade appliance packages, smart-technology and European-inspired finishings throughout the home.
Groundbreaking for The Harbour is tentatively scheduled for July 2015. The property should be completed two years after construction begins, tentatively 2017. The condos have just been released to the public and can be reserved with a 10% deposit.

The Transformation of South Florida
One of the reasons I love being a realtor in Miami is that the area is so dynamic. It is constantly growing and changing. It’s exciting for me to see places I knew so well as a kid evolve into something no one could have envisioned a decade ago.
While today’s newest neighborhoods consist of towering condos with amazing amenities, what makes this area so special isn’t these developments. It’s the beautiful waters of the Atlantic and Intracoastal Waterway, the spectacular weather and the tropical lifestyle. Those things will never change.
