Brickell Flatiron, New Condos, Downtown Miami
Unique Architecture in a
Luxury Skyscraper, Brickell Area
May 6, 2014
Joel Greene here from Condo Hotel Center. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before but I was born in New York City. My family moved to Miami Beach when I was a toddler. Nonetheless, I still have ties to NYC and have been back many times to visit relatives.
This past winter I was there with my wife and daughters. Because they’d never done the tourist thing in the city, we decided to hop on one of the double-decker buses that take you to the best sights.
As you’re driving around, you can’t help but notice the many skyscrapers. Maybe because I’m a realtor, I especially enjoy looking at the architecture. One building in particular caught my eye. It was triangular in shape and stood out as being so different I had to snap a picture.
I learned it was the iconic Flatiron Building at Fifth Avenue and Broadway, so named because its triangular shape resembles the old-fashioned clothing flatirons that were heated on stoves.
Evidently, I’m not the only one who was impressed with the Flatiron’s unique design. Veteran Miami developer Ugo Colombo was too, so much so that he decided his next residential project would resemble the Flatiron Building. And that project is today’s featured property. Read on for details.
A Mixed-Use Development
Brickell Flatiron will be a flowing, curvy structure. It will soar 65 stories on a triangular lot at South Miami Avenue and Brickell Plaza, which is in the heart of South Florida’s highly desirable Brickell area.
The 750-foot, triangular skyscraper is designed to be a mixed-use development. It will have 552 condo residences and 40,000 square feet of retail development, including restaurants, lounge and retail space.
Brickell Flatiron will have a sky terrace with awesome features as well as other amenities scattered throughout the development. They include:
- Landscaped rooftop pool, cabanas, sundeck and juice bar on sky terrace
- Sky Wellness Pavilion: rooftop spa, fitness center, sauna facilities
- Additional lap pool and spa pool – 18th floor
- State-of-the-art business center and conference rooms
- Children’s play area and game room
- Movie theater
- Private event space & recreation rooms
- Lobby area bar
- Two high-end, ground level restaurants & retail boutiques
The building will also have 24-hour concierge, valet, security and doorman services. Household services are available upon request.
The individual residences with have expansive floor plans with high ceilings (9’6” ceilings in tower residences and 10’6” ceilings in penthouses). They’ll feature floor-to-ceiling sliding glass balcony doors, which lead to spacious 11 foot deep, private balconies offering city skyline views.
The condos will have Italian kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, top quality marble, designer faucets, and professional grade appliances.
In recent months I’ve told you about several Brickell-area condos. This part of downtown Miami is simply exploding with development. The location has so much to offer.
Brickell Flatiron is in the heart of Mary Brickell Village, where you will find an LA Fitness, Publix Supermarket, and more than 35 diverse restaurants, retail boutiques and specialty food shops.
Located just two blocks from Brickell City Centre, a $1.05 billion, mixed-use complex already under construction and expected to open in late-2015. It will include nine acres of upper-tier and premium luxury shopping, restaurants and hotels.
The Brickell Avenue financial and business center is just a block away. And the Metrorail station and Metromover Brickell station, also nearby, offer easy access to downtown Miami cultural venues such as the American Airlines Arena, home of the Miami Heat, and the Adrianne Arscht Center for the Performing Arts.
Groundbreaking for Brickell Flatiron is slated for the end of 2014 with completion projected for spring 2016. The property has just now begun accepting reservations with a deposit of 10% of the purchase price.
Choose from one-, two- and three-bedroom condos, ranging in size from 730 sq. ft. to 2,314 sq. ft. Pre-construction prices start at $389,000 and go up to $2,000,000 for the largest penthouse unit.
I have plenty of additional details in my Brickell Flatiron data sheet, which is yours for the asking at the link below.
I Heart New York
My family and I enjoyed our visit to New York – the sights, skyscrapers, restaurants, theater and so much more.
Similar excitement can be felt in the city of Miami as well but it comes with the added bonus of gorgeous beaches and fantastic year-round weather. I love New York, but Miami will always have my heart.
If you’d like to see what’s so great about this city I call home, I hope you’ll give me a call. Whether your interest lies in a second home or a primary residence, I’d be glad to show you all that’s available in my hometown.
