AND DESTINATION CLUB INDUSTRY REGULATION: AN OVERVIEW,
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS AND OVERLOOKED ISSUES
The regulation of the
PRC and Destination Club industries is a hotly debated
subject. While the PRC industry falls under the scope
of timeshare regulations, there are still several
regulatory issues commonly overlooked. The Destination
Club industry, however, is largely unregulated. The
bankruptcy of Tanner and Haley in 2006 shook the foundations
of many Destination Clubs, leading to an industry
move towards self-regulation to garner consumer confidence.
In an open floor format our panel of experts examine
the latest regulatory developments and their impact
on the respective industries.
- Outlining the current regulatory
environment and trends within the PRC and Destination
Club markets
- How is regulation likely to affect
non-equity, equity and hybrid Destination Clubs
and when?
- What are some of the overlooked
regulatory issues within the Destination Club industry?
- Destination Club industry self-regulation
and guidelines update
- Regulation around securities:
How will regulation impact disclosure?
- Examining documentation and registration
issues within the PRC industry
- Exploring overlooked regulatory
issues within the PRC industry:
- Property management
- Exchange company registration
and regulation
