The Pad will be a 24-story tower.  It will include 231 “intelligent” apartments that push the boundaries of architectural design and include numerous interactive features.

Just like the building’s exterior, the interiors of The Pad will be truly innovative.  They will be intelligently designed to offer extra storage capacity, top-of-the-line appliances and premium quality fittings and finishes. 

The Pad, also known as the “iPad,” has a variety of floor plans from which to choose.  They include studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments and lofts. 
This residential tower will be the ultimate home providing futuristic living accommodations that seamlessly interact with the comforts of modern technology. 
Some of the more advanced features of the residences include:

• iReality: Each apartment will have a virtual reality projection wall linking it in real time to different locations worldwide.  For example, the virtual view can be of the New York skyline in real life. Residents can live life as virtual tourists from a range of 62 global destinations.

• iHealth: Bathroom will monitor resident’s health, providing updates on weight, fat content, temperature and blood pressure.  Full reports can be viewed on bathroom mirrors that transform into LCD screens.

• iSecurity: No more lost keys. RFID proximity tags will automatically unlock/lock doors and detect a resident’s arrival.

• Customization: Lights and music at the Pad can reflect the moods of the resident.  The color of the apartment’s lighting can change, as can the music.  The look of the entrance area of every apartment can even be customized with digital messages.

• iEntertainment: Apartments will have karaoke and DVD entertainment systems.  A variety of music and videos will be available on demand.

• iArt: A special server allows residents to access a wide database of artists and paintings.  Choose what painting to project on the wall at any time.

• iPod Dock: Each apartment will be fitted with an iPod docking station which allows owners to project their music to specific rooms or throughout the whole apartment.

• iFamily and Friends: Family and friends can be given a device which allows them to stay in touch via video conferencing.  Instead of the hard-to-see pictures of a regular webcam transmitted to a PC screen, residents can have their images broadcast right on the walls of the apartment.

• iRotation Rooms: Residents of the two-bedroom apartments can rotate their lounge area 360 degrees to change their view to that of the Burj or the creek.  

The Pad is being developed by OMNIYAT properties, one of the most distinguished developers in the UAE.  Construction on The Pad began in July 2007 and is expected to be complete by the beginning of 2010. 

Located at the waterfront of Dubai Creek in the heart of Business Bay, it is just off the commercial corridor of Sheikh Zayed Road.  Business Bay encompasses the Dubai International Financial Centre, the World Trade and Convention Center and the Emirates Towers Hotel. 

The Pad will have a vibrant retail section on the ground floor that will include famous outlets amongst which there will be alfresco dining venues overlooking the creek and the boardwalk, a promenade-style entertainment strip.

It is an exclusive, prestigious address that easily connects to all other parts of Dubai via water taxis, the Metro, and main roads.

Prices for residences start at approximately $423,000 USD and go up to $1.5 million for the large lofts.
