The
Residences at the Wyndham Resort & Golden Door
Spa is located in Weston Florida, just west of Ft.
Lauderdale. Originally the highly successful, Bonaventure
Hotel & Spa, the Ireland Companies are currently
in the process of spending $85 million remodeling
and completely redesigning the property.
When done, the Wyndham Resort will
be a four-star condo hotel, featuring 252 luxuriously-furnished
condominiums set in nine mid-rise buildings that reflect
a Key West style. It will house the first and only
Golden Door Spa in the eastern part of the U.S. The
Golden Door Spas are consistently ranked among the
best spas in the world. At 48,000 sq. ft., the spa
being built at the Wyndham will be one of the largest
resort spas in the country.
In addition to the Golden Door Spa,
the Wyndham Resort will feature two championship Bonaventure
golf courses, a 16-court tennis facility, four pools,
three on-site restaurants and 84,000 sq. ft. of meeting
and ballroom space. Spanning over 23 landscaped acres,
it will be within walking distance of the beautiful
666-acre Markham Park and short driving distance to
the immense Sawgrass Mills Mall and the new Seminole
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
 The
redesign of the Wyndham Resort is being done by Howard
Design Group, a large, very prestigious firm that
just completed the Ritz Carlton in Coconut Grove.
When built, the Wyndham Resort will rival such well-known
golf resorts as the Doral Golf & Country Club,
Miami; the Boca Raton Resort and Club, Boca Raton;
and the PGA National Resort & Spa, Palm Beach
Gardens.
Wyndham is a quality franchise, offering
upscale hotel and resort accommodations throughout
the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe.
The developer, Tom Ireland, has a 40+ year track record.
The property, centrally located, will attract golfers,
shoppers, spa goers, conventioneers and transient
business.
Prices for a one-bedroom unit, one-and-a-half-bath,
869 sq. ft. unit, at the Wyndham Resort start at $429,000,
making this one of the more economically priced four-star
condo hotels on the market. Two-bedroom units, 1,291
sq. ft., start at $600,000. Both the one- and two-bedroom
units have lockouts, allowing one room to be used
by the owner while the other is rented out. Both units
come with 80 sq. ft. terraces, not included in the
living space above.
