The Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino

Las Vegas, NV

The Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino will be a condo hotel destined to redefine the Las Vegas skyline with its stunning design. A $1.5 billion development, it will consist of two glass towers on an 8.5-acre site right on the Las Vegas Strip.

The Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino will encompass:

  • Over 4 million square feet

  • Approximately 2,200 rooms comprised of condo hotel units and hotel rooms

  • Over 150,000 square feet of convention and meeting space

  • A 70,000 square foot casino

  • Over 300,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, and entertainment space

  • A 50,000 square foot fitness center and spa

  • 1,800 seat theater

  • 400 feet of Strip frontage

  • A four-level parking garage

The Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino is intended to have a four-star rating. It is being built on Las Vegas Boulevard between the Bellagio and MGM Mirage's 76-acre, master-planned urban complex, Project CityCenter.

Prices for the studios start at $559,000 and $1.2 million for the one bedroom (subject to change without notice).

The Cosmoplitan broke ground in October 2005 and will be complete in late 2009. Perini Building Co. spent the first 12 months excavating 60 feet down, described by a Cosmopolitan spokeswoman as "one of the deepest digs in Las Vegas history," and removing 800,000 cubic yards of dirt to make room for a four-level parking structure and foundation for the project. Construction on the Cosmopolitan began its ascent skyward in April 2007. (Read a recent Construction Update here.)

All of the first tower's condo hotel units are sold out. Units are still available in the second tower. All units include private balconies with outstanding views of the Las Vegas Strip and skyline.

The developer of The Cosmopolitan is a group called 3700 Associates. Ian Bruce Eichner, CEO of 3700 Associates, is one of the nation's premier developers of luxury time share and condominium properties, including The Manhattan Club in New York and the Continuum development in Miami's South Beach district.
