Virginia's first luxury sports condominium hotel, will be located in Blacksburg, the heart of the Hokie Nation. Combining classic Roman architecture with modern design, it is destined to become a stand-out structure near the city’s historic downtown, Virginia Tech Campus, Lane Stadium and Cassell Coliseum.

The Colosseum will consist of two six-story buildings connected by a central lobby area, which contains the hotel’s restaurant and bar, administrative offices, meeting rooms and ballrooms. On the outside, the two buildings will be separated by a beautifully landscaped courtyard featuring an outdoor fireplace and fountain.

The property will have a total of 241 condo hotel units and a handful of exclusive residences on the top floor. It will be constructed with materials utilizing renewable resources, including steel-reinforced insulated concrete, to create an energy-efficient, environmentally friendly “green” building.

The Colosseum will be operated by Salamander Hospitality, a recognized leader in the management of exclusive resorts. Expected to be a four-star property, it will offer the following amenities and services:

The condo hotel units will be delivered fully-furnished and designer decorated. Buyers can choose from a variety of floor plans ranging from studios to two bedrooms with den and 366 square feet on up to 1,643 square feet.

Construction began in November 2008 and is scheduled for completion by summer 2010. Prices range from $189,900 to $879,900.
