Cheeca Lodge & Club
Islamorada,
FL
A four-diamond property, Cheeca
Lodge has a long and rich history. Founded in 1946,
this classic resort has been rebuilt and expanded
many times.
Most recently, Cheeca Lodge underwent
a multi-million dollar renovation to convert the main
lodge and beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites
into condo hotel and deluxe beachfront bungalows with
private balconies.
Nestled on 27 lushly landscaped acres,
it features a palm-fringed, white sand beach of over
1,000 feet and crystal-clear water. With an architectural
style that blends West Indian and Floridian influences,
the resort has a relaxed feel -- what Cheeca executives
refer to as ''barefoot elegance."
Amenities include:
- 49 Beach lodge condominiums
- Tropical Avanyu Island & Spa,
fitness studio
- Ocean terrace grill and poolside
patio
- Award-winning Atlantic's Edge

Even before its recent renovation,
Cheeca was distinct among Keys properties for its
sheer size and the fact it offered hard-to-find amenities
on this slender chain of islands like a full-service
spa, a golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus and a
sandy beach built up on the notoriously rocky shoreline.
Then there's the blue-green water that has always
beckoned snorkelers, scuba divers and sport fishermen
to the Keys.
The
renovated rooms have been done up with mahogany furniture
in the bedrooms, Italian marble in the bathrooms and
a 42-inch plasma television for every guest's viewing
pleasure. The spa has an adult-only pool, with cabanas
that rent by the day. The 1,200-foot beach is lined
with hammocks, perfect for a midday siesta.
The location is an hour and a half
away from Miami Beach, but guests say it's like being
on a Caribbean island. Especially unique is a 525
foot pier that extends far out into the Atlantic.
Phase I of Cheeca Lodge has already
been completed and sold out. Phase II is now available.
Buyers can take ownership immediately. Prices for
condo hotel units start at $495,000 (subject to change
without notice.)
