Vail Resorts, Lake Tahoe Development Company, and the City of South Lake Tahoe are leading the redevelopment of downtown South Lake Tahoe.  A key part of the renaissance of this area is the creation of The Chateau at Heavenly Village.

The new resort has a prime location at the base of Heavenly Mountain Resort and the Heavenly Gondola.  It is just steps from Lakeside Beach and Marina on Lake Tahoe, Tahoe's new Conference and Events Center, The Shops at Heavenly Village, Heavenly Village 8-Plex Cinema, and the famous Edgewood Golf Course. Registered with the U.S. Green Building Council for LEED-certification, Chateau at Heavenly Village's transformation will include use of native timbers, stone, glass and other materials that will bring out the rustic mountain character of the buildings.
