Oceanfront Condo Hotel/Condo in Hollywood, Florida

When you mess something up, they say, “Go back to the drawing board.” When you get something right, they say, “Rinse, repeat.” Well, not exactly, but you get the idea.
I know this concept firsthand because when my wife and I gave birth to a beautiful daughter, we had her identical twin join the party just 45 seconds later. So repeating a success is certainly something we believe in. But that was 15 years ago, and I have a much more current example for you today.

One of the nation’s premier residential developers also follows that philosophy of following one success with another. While condo hotel development has been somewhat dormant the last few years, Jorge Perez and his development company, The Related Group, know a condo hotel can be a win-win for both the individual unit owner and the developer.
They took a chance last November when they introduced Beachwalk by Pininfarina, a 300-unit residential property that included a mix of traditional condos and condo hotel units in Hallandale, Florida. At the time, it was one of the first new condo hotel developments we’d seen anywhere in years. And despite the fact that it was not on the ocean, less than one year later, that property is completely sold out!
Firm in the belief that condo hotels offer a great vacation home and second home option for its owners, The Related Group is ready to duplicate its success and has just released its newest project. This one IS on the ocean in nearby Hollywood. Its name is Hyde Resort & Residences and like Beachwalk, it will offer a combination of condo hotel units and traditional condos.

Mixed-Use Property
Hyde Resort & Residences will be a mixed-use, 41-story tower consisting of 367 resort condominiums (large condo hotel units) that come finished and fully furnished. Another 40 units will be traditional condominiums.
Owners of the resort condominiums will be able to use their vacation home for up to 150 days per year. When not there, they’ll have the option of placing their unit in a professionally managed rental program. The portion of the rent revenue they receive can help offset the costs of ownership. Additionally, they’ll know that their vacation home and the resort’s amenities are all being professionally maintained and secured when they’re not there.
A 41-story tower, Hyde Resort & Residences will also include retail and a restaurant.
Hyde Resort & Residences will also include retail stores and a restaurant on its ground floor. And residents will enjoy complimentary membership to a magnificent, three-story oceanfront beach club, which sits adjacent to the property.
Residents will have full use of the amenities at the oceanfront beach club next door to Hyde.

As a condo hotel, Hyde Resort & Residences will offer amenities and services on par with a four- or five-star hotel including the following:

Hyde Resort & Residences is being designed to make the most of its location right on the sand.
Hyde Resort & Residences will offer beach access right from its back door.
The condos will have the following features:

- Wide private terraces with glass railings and unobstructed views, accessible from the living and bedroom areas
- Dazzling ocean views from almost every residence
- Energy-efficient, floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors and windows
- Individually controlled, energy-efficient central A/C and heating systems
- Living rooms appointed with LED “Smart” televisions
- In-suite technology, including high speed internet access and WiFi
- European cabinetry in kitchens and bathrooms
- Imported stone counter tops
- Spacious walk-in closets in most residences
The condos will feature spacious living quarters and ocean views.
The condo hotel units will be delivered fully furnished. They’ll be ready for use from day #1. Easy, breezy vacation home ownership; that’s what condo hotels are all about.
Hollywood Has Much to Offer
Hyde Resort & Residences will be centrally located in Hollywood. A coastal city of over 130,000 residents, Hollywood is nestled between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. With slightly lower prices than its more developed sister cities, developers are seeing the real values in developing this beachfront market, especially since the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has reported a deficiency of 5,700 hotel rooms in the city to meet current demand.
Additionally, Hollywood leaders have recently approved the development of the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort by a 6-1 vote. Margaritaville, a name surely recognized by Parrot Heads (fans of Jimmy Buffett), will be a 349-room hotel and restaurant complex being built at a $147-million price tag. City Manager Cathy Swanson-Riverband has said that this project has spurred redevelopment on the beach.
While its beautiful beaches are certainly its best selling point, Hollywood has plenty more to offer. There’s world-class dining and shopping at the nearby Bal Harbour Shoppes, Aventura Mall and Las Olas Boulevard. Also close are museums and theaters.
The Village at Gulfstream, a 1,000,000 sq. ft. new development, recently opened within a few minutes of Hyde Resort’s front door. It has outdoor cafes and fine dining restaurants, unique shops and sidewalk boutiques, bustling nightlife and entertainment, casinos and horse racing.
The Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades, the second busiest cruise port in the world, and the Miami International Airport and Port of Miami, the #1 cruise port in the world, are less than 25 miles away.
Condos and condo hotels can be reserved now at pre-construction prices starting at $425,000.
Pre-construction Prices
Groundbreaking on Hyde Resort & Residences is expected by mid 2014. Construction completion is expected by mid 2016. The condos can be reserved now at pre-construction prices.
The resort residences (condo hotel units) range from one- to three-bedrooms. Prices range from $425,000 to $1,500,000.
The traditional condos are all two- or three-bedroom units. Prices range from $625,000 to $1,500,000.
